President Obama signed the omnibus "Jobs for Main Street Act" to increase employment!
On Feb 24, 2010, President Obama signed the 'Jobs for Main Street Act" in order to provide both emergency and non-emergency funding to states to increase employment. This legislation focuses on funding for six main areas:

1) Medicaid and other Health Provisions
2) Transportation to invest in highway infrastructure, public
transportation, and airport improvement
3) Energy and Water including $2 billion for the Innovative
Technology Loan Guarantee Program
4) Education to increase school renovation grants
5) Housing including $1 billion for the National Housing Trust
Fund and $1 billion for the Public Housing Capital Fund
6) Labor and Workforce to expand summer youth program,
loan for small business, grants for job training, and
unemployment benefits.
