It Took Divine Intervention to Allow All Americans to See the Greatness of President Obama
It has been told that everyone who has personal experience with this President comes away understanding his leadership abilities and his solid character. Governor Christie joins a long line of converts who agree that President Obama is a man who means what he says and he says what he means, and then he acts to implement his words.
There are still folks out there who can’t even give the President credit for the things that he undeniably accomplished such as saving the auto industry and ending Bin Laden’s life. These people would be well advised to take the lead from Chris Christie who has the integrity to give the man credit for doing a good job. This speaks as well for the Governor as it does of the President.
We would be remiss leaving our SNAP-CAP here. There is another leadership lesson learned in the wake of this tragic event. This time the spotlight of truth shines on the Republican candidate for president, Mitt Romney.
During a CNN debate at the height of the GOP primary, Mitt Romney was asked whether FEMA should be dismantled so that states can individually take over responsibility for disaster response.
"Absolutely," he said. "Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that's the right direction. And if you can go even further, and send it back to the private sector, that's even better. Instead of thinking, in the federal budget, what we should cut, we should ask the opposite question, what should we keep?"
"Including disaster relief, though?" debate moderator John King asked Romney.
"We cannot -- we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids," Romney replied. "It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we'll all be dead and gone before it's paid off. It makes no sense at all."

Privatize disaster response? This is one more indications of how completely out of touch Romney is with reality. Imagine how damaging it will be for this country to put a man who is so accident prone in making one wrong decision after another and then changing his position with the advantage of hindsight.
Just imagine if he was the President and had implemented his plan to privatize disaster relief. How irresponsible will it be to put this inept man and his ham-fisted team of advisors in the oval office? Doing so will put our beloved country at risk in this and so many other ways. Replacing our very capable President with an incompetent power-craving hack would be a colossal mistake of bigger magnitude and consequence than the Perfect Storm that just caused us so much damage.
Get out and vote – and then get out the vote!

Some, exemplified by a leading critic of the President, came to the conclusion that the man they had painted in the most negative way was actually a horse of a different color.New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, the man who delivered the keynote address on August 28, 2012 at the Republican Convention in Tampa, Florida, said the following about President Obama in that speech:“It’s time to end this era of absentee leadership in the Oval Office and send real leaders to the White House,”
“I believe in America and her history,” he continued, “There’s only one thing missing now: leadership.”
Governor Christie has said as bad and worse since; including this May 2012 statement about the President: "He is the most ill-prepared person to assume the presidency in my lifetime," Christie told some 600 Kentucky Republicans. “This is a guy who literally is walking around in a dark room trying to find the light switch of leadership."

Flash forward to October 30, 2012 when The President and the Governor had a chance to work together in the crisis environment caused by the brutally damaging storm that blew through the East. The punishing winds blew the ideological blinders off of the Governor’s eyes.
The New Jersey Governor, who has been a leading presidential critic, got to personally experience President Obama’s leadership. This frank and honest man bravely threw political expedience out the window and spoke from his heart about the President’s leadership under fire. Rather than holding to the Republican Party line, Christy surprisingly lauded the President for his leadership in the handling of Hurricane Sandy.
“The president has been outstanding in this and so have the folks at FEMA,” Christie said on NBC’s “Today” show.
Christie, whose state is among the hardest hit by the storm, made appearances on several morning talk shows on Tuesday and applauded Obama at each stop.
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe Show, Christie said “The president has been all over this, and he deserves great credit. He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything and he absolutely means it, and it’s been very good working with the president and his administration.” In a later follow up Christie told of a midnight call with the President and a quick 2:00 AM follow up call from FEMA.
On CNN’s “Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien,” Christie added that Obama “has been incredibly supportive and helpful to our state, and not once did he bring up the election.”
