President Obama’s “e-Rulemaking Initiative” Champions Transparency In Government!
President Obama championed the “e-Rulemaking Initiative” to allow for online public “notice and comment” on federal laws and initiatives
In order to ensure that the American public’s voice can be heard, the Obama Administrated cooperated with Cornell University in 2010, to initiate the e-rulemaking, or electronic rulemaking, program to allow the public to go online to see noticeS made by the federal government and comment on federal laws and initiatives.
The Office of Management and Budget maintains the program. That office follows three guiding principles established by President Obama: transparency, participation, and collaboration. “E-rulemaking uses disclosure and new access to get comments from diverse people. The feedback is then used to improve regulations based upon the thoughts and ideas of the participating public. Cass Sunstein, administrator of OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs stated thaT,. "Electronic rulemaking, if it is done right, is a partner of accountability.”
