President Obama Appointed Eric Holder The First Black Attorney General!
As the first African American President in United States history, President Obama has proven himself to be a person of diversity and respect for different races and ethnicity. The President appointed the first African American Attorney General, Eric Himpton Holder, Jr. for this position on February 2, 2009.
Holder is currently the 82th Attorney General of the United States. Mr. Holder has had a distinguished career which includes serving as a judge under the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and a U.S. Attorney. He was the legal senior adviser for Mr. Obama during the Presidential election in 2008. He also served as one of the three members of Mr. Obama’s vice president selection committee.
Holder has been controversial as all Attorney Generals are. He has been particularly criticized by both sides of the aisle for his relatively laid back style which translates into many cases not being pursued.
