Snap Fact #255

President Obama Comforts the Bereaved in Aurora, Colorado!

On this sorrowful day for our nation our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. With his customary sincerity, sensitivity, and compassion, President Obama has represented each of us who would like to personally reach out and comfort the bereaved. He first spent 3 hours consoling the victims and their families and then paid a visit to a hospital that was treating some of the victims.

Our mourner-in-chief found and focused on the rays of light emanating from the tragedy by pointing out the inspirational miracles of survival and heroism that were generated by this unspeakable event.

"I come to them not so much as president but as a father and a husband," Obama told reporters. "I confessed to them that words are always inadequate in these kinds of situations, but that my main task was to serve as a representative of the entire country and let them know that we are thinking about them at this moment and will continue to think about them each and every day."

While the President appropriately cancelled all campaigning, Governor Romney was at a high ticket San Francisco fund raiser. The Governor told his audience that the President did “the right thing” by visiting the Aurora families and that he appreciated Obama’s actions.
