SNAP-DRAGON

(A Rational Opinion by the Rational Majority)

 Grover Norquist Endorses Mitt Romney

This SNAP-DRAGON speaks for itself. This time an extreme right wing power broker is actually speaking the truth rather than making up a fact for the DRAGON to breath the light of its fire on.

Here is exactly what the mega-powerful right wing activist Grover Norquist said as he endorsed Mitt Romney's candidacy in front of the conservative audience at the CPAC convention:

“All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don’t need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.

Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.”

The message is that no matter who the Republican candidate is, he or she will be under the control of the extreme right wing just as the Republicans in congress are. Norquist is saying that if Romney becomes the president he will literally be a puppet on the strings controlled by the conservative cabal. Should someone more actively committed to the cause win the election...

This quote is a chilling statement to anyone who is an independent thinker. Norquist, who has been identified as the most powerful person in America (let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say the most powerful unelected person) has a reputation of speaking his mind. In his own unvarnished words, this is clearly what's on his mind and this is what the conservative oligarchy has in store for our country if we let them take the reins of power. If you are still thinking of who to vote for you're not paying attention!

They have reconciled themselves to a Romney candidacy because they see Romney as essentially a weak and passive president who will concede leadership to congressional conservatives:

All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.

The requirement for president?
