Snap Fact #303 - President Obama Sends Another Al-Qaida Leader To Meet The Virgins!

On September 10, 2012 the media reported that one more top Al-Qaida functionary, operating in Yemen, was removed from this earth, along with five other fellow terrorists. This continues the President’s aggressive and highly successful campaign to weaken the Terrorists by eliminating their leaders.

The President had promised that he would seek out and destroy Bin Laden and the rest of the terrorist leaders wherever they are. He made this pledge as far back as his presidential campaign. This latest success is another case of Obama keeping his promises. The result is that our Homeland keeps getting a little safer each time one of these murderers is taken off the chessboard.

Saeed al-Shihri was a Saudi operating his activities from Yemen. Yemen is the abutting neighbor on southern boarder of Saudi Arabia on the Arabian Peninsula. Shihri’s death is a big deal. As previously reported by The Rational Majority (see SNAP-FACTs #214, #187, #188), Obama’s relentless Drone War has eliminated one after another of those who are pledged to destroy America and to kill our citizens wherever and whenever they can.

The AP reported that “Al-Shihri would be the latest in a series of al-Qaida figures killed in drone strikes, including U.S.-born Anwar al-Awlaki, who had been linked to the planning and execution of several attacks targeting U.S. and Western interests, including the attempt to down a Detroit-bound airliner in 2009 and the plot to bomb cargo planes in 2010.”

Al-Shihri had served 6 years in Guantanamo Bay. He was released into Saudi custody and placed into a “rehabilitation” program. His therapy was unsuccessful and he fled to nearby Yemen where he became the protégé’ of Nasser al-Wahishi who once served as bin Laden’s personal aide and is the number one al-Qaida operative on the Arabian Peninsula.

The President understands that we are at war and that the enemy is only vulnerable by drone attack which President G. W. Bush initiated and President Obama has honed to new levels of effectiveness. By taking the fight to the enemy, wherever he is, and in spite of the sniping at the President from the left, the right, and from some of the harboring countries, Obama has immeasurably added to our Homeland’s security.

Imagine what might have happened if this effective program had not decimated the al-Qaida leadership and set the movement back on its heels. By keeping them so off balance America now has the terrorists terrorized and scrambling for their own survival. It’s not only the elimination of their leadership that is so effective, add to that the limitation of their command and communications abilities and you have an enemy playing defense rather than offense.
