President Obama established a new Patient’s Bill of Rights!

Six months after the enactment of Affordable Care Act, the new Patient’s Bill of Rights set regulations for a set of protections applying to health coverage starting on September 23, 2010. 

The legislation, which was pushed by President Obama, provides patients 6 main benefits 

1) No Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions for Children Under Age 19 

2) No Arbitrary Rescission of Insurance Coverage 

3) Protecting the patient's Choice of Doctors 

4) Restricted Annual Dollar Limits on Coverage 

5) Removing Insurance Company Barriers to Emergency Department

      Services 

6) No Lifetime Limits on Coverage 

By establishing the Patient's Bill of Rights, the Obama Administration used the Affordable Care Act to give patients more options and rights when it comes to health care.
