The last few years have seen an unprecedented spread of out-right lies and highly twisted information.  Unfortunately, many of these lies and misstatements have been left unchecked, and after having been widely circulated, they start to take on a false level of "truth" to those who insist on retelling them.  These unchecked lies are dangerous to the democratic process, and dangerous to the future of our country.

Numerous Internet resources are available to check out the claims and allegations made, one of which is the Pulitzer Prize winning Politifact.com (www.Politifact.com).   The next time someone sends you something that you know to be incorrect, send them a link to the correct information.
