President Obama Launched An Innovative Educational Program To Raise Student Achievement!
President Obama put together a collaborate effort between the federal government, leading private companies, non-profit organizations, and science/engineering foundations that is aimed at having students aim higher in their educational goals and achievements. In 2009 the President launched the “Educate to innovate” campaign. $236 million in funding was made available for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education programs.
The purpose of the program is to push American students to a higher level of scholarship through participation, performance, and innovation in math and science. The partnering organizations will collaborate with the government to provide millions of students with a world-class educational program over the next four years. Among more traditional learning aspects, the program includes hands-on experience, community service opportunities, and interactive games to make the learning experience more interesting, memorable, and relevant.
